Malta5k Presented by Global Foundries @ HVCC TEC Smart
Sep 9 all-day

On Saturday, September 9th, the Malta Business and Professional Association will host its’ 8th annual 5K road race, starting at 8:30 a.m., in Malta’s two technology parks — NYSERDA’s Saratoga Technology and Energy Park & Luther Forest Technology Campus. With Global Foundries’ Fab 8 facility now located in the Luther Forest Technology Campus, this event raised well over $35,000 last year to support the VetHelpNY and Malta’s emergency first responders.  Beyond sponsoring this event, companies are promoting the race to their employees to build a team that will participate in this year’s event.  The race is a “friendly business participant competition” where we can all meet, network, run, jog or walk, and do some good for our community. Fleet Feet Albany/Malta is our office prize sponsor and is providing cash prizes to our overall male and female winners.   To stay updated on the event, go to our Facebook fan page, www.facebook.com/malta5k.  Should you have any questions about this event, you can also call Paul Loomis at 518-472-4807 or send an email to info@malta5k.com. Thank you in advance for considering this invitation. We hope you’ll join us on September 9th.

Sitrin’s 6th Annual Stars and Stripes Run~Walk @ SUNY Polytechnic Institute
Sep 9 all-day

The Sitrin Health Care Center is proud to host its 6th Annual Stars and Stripes Run-Walk to support our nation’s heroes on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at SUNY Polytechnic Institute (formerly SUNYIT) in Marcy, NY.

Sitrin’s Stars and Stripes Run~Walk, proudly sponsored by Adirondack Bank, is the primary fundraiser for Sitrin’s Military Rehabilitation Program. This event features a 5k run, wheelchair race, and two-mile walk, in addition to a fun-filled, military-inspired obstacle course.

Sitrin invites the community to participate! Individuals, businesses, and organizations are encouraged to form teams and walk or run in honor or in memory of a loved one who has answered the ultimate call of duty – to serve and protect our freedom.

The entry fee for either the run or walk is $25 per person, and the first 400 individuals to register receive a commemorative dog tag. Incentives will be available for those who raise $125, $250, $500, $1,000 or more. Registration will take place from 7:30 am to 8:45 am in the Campus Center and a continental breakfast will be served.

Sitrin’s Military Rehabilitation Program provides treatment for service members and veterans who have PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, amputations, spinal cord injuries, and other combat-related conditions. Any veteran who chooses to be treated at Sitrin does not pay anything for his or her care, not even a co-pay.

Through your support of Sitrin’s Stars and Stripes Run~Walk, veterans can begin the process of rebuilding their lives, reuniting with their families, and reentering their communities.

I hope you will support this worthwhile event.

For more information, please contact me at (315) 737-2245 or cjassak@sitrin.com.

9/11 HERO run @ Flycreek Fire House
Sep 11 all-day

In memory of all the Heroes that lost there lives on 9/11 and in Honor of
all that still answer the call. It takes countless hours of training and
also dedication to volunteer on your local fire/ems department, time from
family and self to help others. They not only drop everything as soon as
the alarm sounds they also risk personal injury on every call.  It is an
unselfish
service that those people living in your neighborhood provide with little
acknowledgement. Lets recognize these volunteer first responders by
supporting
the 9/11 Hero 5K. Your registration will go directly to to the agency for
equipment
and safety gear needed to protect themselves while helping you. This years’
race
will support the Fly Creek Fire and EMS Department so please come and show
you care.
