National Distance Running Hall of Fame
Started as the National Distance Running Hall of Fame Race and was established in 1999 by the Utica Roadrunners to support the newly formed National Distance Hall of Fame. They wanted to support the newly formed National Distance Hall of Fame. The decision was made that the best way to support the Hall of Fame was to put on a race. In 2016 the name of the race changed to the Erie Canal Half. With the changes in the area we wanted a greater emphasis on the beautiful running trails in the Utica/Rome area.
